As the days grow longer and flowers bloom, we are excited to share all our latest news with you. Stay tuned as we grow this newsletter and come grow with us!

March and April came and went with colder Spring nights and slower growing. We are excited to be growing lots of our own product to have quality control of cultivation, quantity, and varieties. Growing plants right here in Yakima, ensures they will be adapted to our climate.

Mother’s Day is right around the corner, which is usually the safe date to plant non-cold-hardy plants like veggies and annuals. Weather looks to be clear and ready for planting this May.

Annuals are moving quickly with shortages in some areas due to crop failures. Our 4” Proven Winners are currently at $3.99.

This newsletter will be full of sales, seasonal offers, gardening discussion, facts, and pictures; so look out for our next issue in June!

Garden Mix

Our garden mix is a 4 way soil, mixed just for us.

Forest humus. Sand. Loamy Topsoil. Decomposed Bark.

What your plants need to thrive.

Forest Humus

Humus is an important amendment in soil for enhancing soil structure and texture, water retention, and drainage. It provides essential nutrients, introduces beneficial microorganisms, and is indispensable to plant growth.

Sand

Sand as a component of soil mix improves structure, prevents compaction, regulates temperature, and improves drainage and aeration.

Loamy Topsoil

Loamy soils have versatility across crops making it important in general use soil mixes. It contributes to nutrient accessibility, root growth and airflow.

Decomposed Bark

As bark continues to decompose it enriches the soil with organic matter, providing nutrients. It helps maintain optimal soil pH and creates a more favorable environment for soil organisms, which improve plant health.

May Highlights

Proven Winners Superbells® Series

Enjoy Superbells through summer and fall. Full of color, Calibrachoa are a great addition to gardens and patio containers in full sun. They are heat tolerant and disease resistant.

Selecta Petunia Series

Plant petunias in full sun after the last chance of frost. Petunias are known for their long flowering period; extend that even longer by pruning back shoots in mid summer. They are great in hanging baskets, patio containers, and as a ground cover. They tend to have few to no pest problems. Hummingbirds are attracted to their trumpet shape.

Proven Winners Superbena® Series

The Superbena Series is full of disease resistant verbena varieties. They don’t require as much water or food as some annuals, and bloom from spring to fall in full sun. Grow them in hanging baskets, patio containers, and landscapes.
